The Ondo State government has disclosed that a coordinated joint security operation has been activated following the kidnapping of a nine-year-old pastor’s son by suspected bandits in Igbosi Community, Idogun, Ose Local Government Area.
With the state government calling for calm over the situation, particularly in the community, it stated that personnel of the Amotekun Corps, the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and the military have been mobilised for a rescue operation.
According to the Commissioner for Information in the state, the combing operations within the community have begun, stressing that no stone will be left unturned towards rescuing the victim.
A nine-year-old son of a pastor, Victor Olaosebikan, was in the early hours of Friday abducted by bandits who stormed the community. The attack marks the latest security breach in the state.
The statement read, “The Ondo State Government wishes to assure residents that the security situation is being closely monitored and professionally managed by relevant agencies.
“Preliminary security measures have already been strengthened in the affected axis, while intelligence gathering and search operations are ongoing to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.”
