Need to know
- The Testaments season one has come to a startling end on Disney+ and Hulu, leaving audiences clamouring for more. Thankfully, season two of The Testaments was recently confirmed, so fans will be returning to Gilead at some point. The sequel series to The Handmaid’s Tale, which is based on Margaret Atwood’s Booker Prize-winning 2019 novel, focuses on the young and privileged women of Gilead as they begin their journeys from Plums to Wives.
- The cast is led by One Battle After Another’s Chase Infiniti as Plum Agnes MacKenzie and Scottish star Lucy Halliday as Pearl Girl and secret Mayday spy Daisy. The Handmaid’s Tale veteran Ann Dowd reprises her Emmy-winning part as Aunt Lydia in The Testaments, albeit in a very different role from the parent series. Other cast members include Mabel Li, Isolde Ardies, Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Amy Seimetz, Charlie Carrick and Brad Alexander.
- Many are curious to know more about star Alexander, who plays Mayday resistance agent and Guardian Garth Chapin in the show. The Testaments marks the British model-turned-actor’s biggest role to date after he made his screen debut in 2023 in Netflix’s You as Edward. The star from Weston-super-Mare in Somerset also previously had roles in the BBC crime drama Lynley and Apple TV+’s Surface, as per IMDb.
- Before venturing into the world of modelling and entertainment, Alexander was studying marketing at university when he made the switch. After he started modelling, Alexander also signed up to do work as a background artist and was featured in Netflix’s Anatomy of a Scandal. However, his knowledge of the original novel impressed the director so much that he landed a couple of lines, according The Standard.
- Although he’s worked in the worlds of modelling and acting, Alexander has previously said he wants to venture into various fields. He told The Greatest Magazine in a recent interview: “Right now I’m a writer, business owner and, very recently, actor. I hope to have a whole new set of titles in five years.”
- He is next going to be starring an upcoming Netflix series from Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker, which is currently shrouded in secrecy.
- Outside of his work, Alexander enjoys nature, music, books, meditation and watches a lot of TV shows and films. Fans can follow the star on Instagram @bradalexanderactor.
