Fans might need a refresher after a two-year hiatus.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has finally returned for its second season after becoming a smash-hit for the BBC and Netflix in 2024.

All six episodes are now available to binge-watch on iPlayer after its premiere this Wednesday (27th May) and follows Pip Fitz-Amobi (played by Emma Myers) taking on another gripping case.

This time, with Max Hastings (Henry Ashton) about to go on trial, Pip is determined to put him behind bars but the disappearance of a key witness, her friend Connor’s (Jude Morgan-Collie) older brother Jamie (Eden Hambelton Davies), sends shockwaves through the town of Little Kilton.

Now a local celebrity after solving the case of Andie Bell’s (India Lillie Davies) disappearance, Pip uses all the resources at her disposal, including her popular new podcast, to get to the bottom of another mystery.

But after a lengthy break between seasons, some viewers might need a reminder about what went down in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’s first season finale.

At the start of the series, Andie had been killed five years earlier and her boyfriend Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni) seemingly confessed to her murder before committing suicide.

However, Pip is convinced that something more sinister at play and teams up with Sal’s brother Ravi (Zain Iqbal) to reopen the case.

She eventually discovers that Andie was having a secret affair with her English teacher, Elliot Ward (Mathew Baynton), who also happens to be the father of her best friend Cara (Asha Banks).

Andie had tried to blackmail Elliot by threatening to tell everyone he had taken advantage of her, causing him to violently retaliate by pushing her. She hits her head on a counter but flees before Elliot is able to call an ambulance.

When Andie arrives home, her younger sister Becca (Carla Woodcock) starts a row over Andie’s plans to leave town with Sal.

Becca was furious with her sister, not only for her plans to leave her to fend for herself against their controlling father Jason (Matthew Chambers), but also because Andie had sold the drugs that Max Hastings had used to drug and assault Becca.

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan.

This lets members watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes hit shows.

This includes the brand new UK drama Unchosen, starring Asa Butterfield and Christopher Eccleston.

Having already sustained a serious head injury, Andie is pushed for a second time that night by her sister. She slams into the wall and Becca watches as she collapses and chokes on her own vomit.

Elliot, now convinced that Andie had died from the injury he caused her, is left desperate and searching for a scapegoat for the crime. He therefore drugs and kills Sal and sends a confession from Sal’s phone to make it look as if he had taken his own life.

But, the text’s perfect spelling stands out from Sal’s other messages and tips Pip and Ravi off that something is wrong.

Andie’s sister Becca is behind bars after trying to kill Pip

The season ends with Elliot finally being served justice, though there’s still the loose end of what happened to Andie’s body. Pip confronts Becca, who takes her to the burial site in the woods, but not before Becca drugs Pip and tries to kill her, too.

Luckily, Ravi and Cara manage to track her down and come to her rescue, and the second season begins with Becca behind bars and Max about to stand trial for his multiple assaults of female classmates.
