Skydiver killed in mid-air collision during group dive identified

A 70-year-old skydiver, Randy Hubbs, died following a mid-air collision with another jumper, Nicole Klein, during an 11-person group jump in Washington.
The incident occurred at about 1,000 feet above the ground on Sunday evening, with Hubbs reportedly becoming incapacitated after the collision and losing control of his parachute.
Both Hubbs, with around 800 jumps, and Klein, with about 900 jumps, were experienced skydivers, and their parachutes had successfully deployed before the collision.
Nicole Klein, 52, sustained a non-life-threatening hip injury and is expected to make a full recovery.
Skydive West Plains and local authorities are investigating the rare incident, while the community mourns Hubbs, who was a respected broker and former music professor.
