  • A 70-year-old skydiver, Randy Hubbs, died following a mid-air collision with another jumper, Nicole Klein, during an 11-person group jump in Washington.
  • The incident occurred at about 1,000 feet above the ground on Sunday evening, with Hubbs reportedly becoming incapacitated after the collision and losing control of his parachute.
  • Both Hubbs, with around 800 jumps, and Klein, with about 900 jumps, were experienced skydivers, and their parachutes had successfully deployed before the collision.
  • Nicole Klein, 52, sustained a non-life-threatening hip injury and is expected to make a full recovery.
  • Skydive West Plains and local authorities are investigating the rare incident, while the community mourns Hubbs, who was a respected broker and former music professor.
