There is nothing to suggest today’s fire is arson, though it does follow several other incidents in the Golders Green neighbourhood, a suburb in the London Borough of Barnet, known for its large Jewish population.
The cause of the blaze is ” is unknown at this time”, London Fire Brigade commented, adding that it has advised residents living close to the Kosher Kingdom supermarket to keep their doors and windows closed and avoid the area.
Road closures are in place near the fire, including on Golders Green Road and near the junction with Beverley Gardens.
Unconfirmed eyewitness reports claim the fire began in the warehouse connected to Kosher Kingdom supermarket on Golders Green Road, LBC reports. Previously, a 2008 fire at the premises was found to have been caused by an electrical fault.
