Kyiv spy chief outlines when Russia ‘will run out of troops’ in new warning
- Russia’s armed forces could exhaust their military supplies and manpower by 2028, according to Ukraine’s intelligence chief, who stated that morale within Russian ranks remains severely depleted.
- Lieutenant General Oleh Ivashchenko, head of the intelligence directorate at Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, estimated that Kremlin reserves will last for just another 16 months.
- “Russia has military and economic resources for the next year, but we estimate it will end in 2028,” he told The Times.
- Detailing the attrition rate, he added: “Russia recruits roughly 1,000 people every day, sometimes 1,200, but look at these casualty figures. Yesterday it was 1,410, the day before it was 1,511. Of those, around 60 per cent are killed in action.”
- He concluded: “Morale is very low because nobody wants to fight.”
