  • Labour chair Bridget Phillipson has asked Parliament’s standards commissioner to investigate Reform UK‘s Richard Tice over an alleged unregistered financial benefit.
  • The complaint follows reports that over £1m was transferred to a company owned by Tice, shortly before £500,000 was donated to Reform UK and £200,000 was paid towards party debt.
  • Labour argues that Tice must clarify whether he or a company he controls received a registrable benefit linked to his political activities.
  • Richard Tice dismissed the complaint as twaddle and stated he is confident political donation rules have been fully complied with.
  • Parliament’s standards commissioner Daniel Greenberg is already probing Reform UK leader Nigel Farage over a separate undeclared £5m gift.
