“I wasn’t invited to baby events because I had no child” — Mo Bimpe

Nollywood actress, Mo Bimpe has revealed that some people intentionally left her out of baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday celebrations because she did not have a child at the time.

Bimpe made the revelation in a post shared on her social media page while speaking about her experience before becoming a mother and encouraging women currently trying to conceive.

The actress said she later discovered that some of the people who excluded her were people she knew personally and cared about.

“There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she said.

Bimpe said the experience was painful because she loved children and wanted to celebrate with people rather than receive pity.

She also urged people not to make the experience harder for women who are waiting to have children.

“Please don’t make it harder by excluding people. A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration,” she said.

The actress encouraged women trying to conceive not to give up, using her own journey as an example.

“There was a time I had no child. Today, I am a mother of triplets,” Bimpe said.

She urged women still waiting for children to remain hopeful, saying her experience had shown her that a person’s circumstances can change.

“The same God who remembered me has not forgotten you,” she added.
