Transfer: Chelsea make Martinez decision in shock U-turn

Chelsea are considering whether to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper, Emi Martinez after intermediaries offered him to the club.

The Blues are in discussions with the relevant parties and are considering whether to make a move for the Argentina international before the summer transfer window closes next week.

Martinez is believed to be open to the move and wants to leave Unai Emery’s side after Aston Villa signed Zion Suzuki to become their new first-choice goalkeeper.

However, Standard Sport is now reporting that Chelsea had no plans to sign Martinez, even after his proposed move to Juventus recently broke down, as Enzo Maresca’s side have two goalkeepers in Robert Sanchez and Mike Penders.
