The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced an inspection of constituency projects valued at over N2.06 billion across Bauchi State as part of measures to check the misuse of public funds.

The commission said 29 projects, with a combined value of N2,062,155,613.98, are being examined under its Constituency Projects Tracking Group exercise.

The monitoring exercise, which began on August 17, 2026, involves officials drawn from the ICPC headquarters in Abuja and its Bauchi office.

The team is expected to ascertain whether the projects funded through constituency allocations are being implemented according to specifications and whether the amounts released correspond with the work executed at the various sites.

The leader of the team, Assistant Chief Superintendent Mohammed Abdullahi Tanko, said the initiative formed part of the commission’s nationwide effort to strengthen accountability in the implementation of government-funded projects.

He said the ICPC was particularly concerned about projects that receive public funds but are either poorly executed, abandoned or not completed.
