Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott’s season-long loan at Aston Villa is concluding, with the player set to return to Anfield for pre-season.
Elliott’s time at Villa Park has been largely unproductive, as he has played only 284 minutes across the season and made just four Premier League appearances.
The obligation to buy clause in his loan agreement, which required 10 Premier League appearances, was not met due to his limited playing time.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed frustration regarding Elliott’s lack of game time at Aston Villa, noting it did not work out as expected for any party involved.
Despite reports of Liverpool potentially looking to sell him, Slot confirmed that Elliott, who has one year left on his contract, is currently part of the club’s pre-season plans.
