Former supermodel says she was ‘locked away’ after abuse allegations

Dutch supermodel Karen Mulder spoke out in her first interview in over 20 years, claiming she was “silenced” and “locked away” after making abuse allegations in 2001.
During a 2001 French television appearance, Mulder accused high-profile modeling figures, European royalty, politicians, and police officers of rape.
Following the 2001 interview, Mulder was placed in a private psychiatric clinic and forced to state that she made up the allegations.
Mulder revealed to Vogue Germany that she endured inhumane treatment in the fashion industry, hoping her fame would compel people to believe her.
Although she never met Jeffrey Epstein personally, social media users now view Mulder as an early whistleblower amid the MeToo movement.
