Huge haul of cocaine and cannabis seized at UK port

- Border Force officers at Southampton Port seized over £160 million worth of cocaine and cannabis within a single month.
- The largest individual haul was 960 kilograms of cocaine valued at an estimated £76 million, uncovered on 10 July.
- Earlier finds on 28 June included two separate cocaine seizures together exceeding 1,000 kilograms, followed by a £1.2 million cannabis haul hidden in hardwood flooring.
- The operations follow a record year ending March 2025, during which Border Force seized 150 tonnes of illegal drugs worth £2.6 billion, a 40 per cent increase on the previous year.
- Home Office minister Jo White commended Border Force officers for damaging criminal supply chains and protecting public safety.
