  • Suspected Irish crime boss Daniel Kinahan has been extradited from Dubai and handed over to authorities in Ireland.
  • Kinahan was arrested in Dubai in April after being named by the United States as one of three leaders of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group, with a $5m reward offered for their arrest.
  • The extradition follows months of preparation, with an Irish government jet transporting Kinahan from the UAE to Ireland on Saturday.
  • The operation is described as one of the largest security undertakings by the Irish government, involving snipers, bomb-proof vans, and signal jammers.
  • Kinahan, who left Ireland after a 2016 assassination attempt and a feud with the Hutch crime gang, said in a voice message that he was “looking forward to getting back home”.
