Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir Of Surviving Abuse And Fighting For Justice, was named Book of the Year at the British Book Awards.
The book also secured the non-fiction narrative book of the year prize at the London ceremony, detailing her alleged trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Judges emphasised the memoir’s power in upholding Giuffre’s legacy, particularly in light of the recent Epstein files revelations.
Other significant winners included Suzanne Collins for Sunrise On The Reaping in children’s fiction and Michael Rosen for Oh Dear, Look What I Got! in children’s non-fiction illustrated.
The awards also honoured Dame Jilly Cooper with a special posthumous award, and recognised AF Steadman as Author of the Year and Dav Pilkey as Illustrator of the Year.
