A young girl has tragically died following a collision between a car and a tractor in Warwickshire. She was discovered with critical injuries on Fosse Way near Moreton Morrell.
Officers were alerted to reports of a crash involving a tractor and a VW Tiguan at approximately 5pm on Friday (July 31). The incident occurred on Fosse Way between the junction for Compton Verney and the Five Ways roundabout near the B4100 Banbury Road.
Emergency medical teams rushed to the scene and discovered a six-year-old girl suffering from severe head injuries. Tragically, she passed away in hospital on Saturday morning (August 1), reports Coventry Live.
Authorities confirmed that the drivers of both the tractor and Tiguan, alongside two young passengers, were left distressed but escaped without physical harm. Detectives have urged anyone with dashcam footage or who was travelling along the B4455 to get in touch.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “A child has sadly died after a collision on the Fosse Way near Moreton Morrell. As part of our ongoing investigation, we are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or who was driving along the B4455 around 5pm on Friday to come forward.”
“We were called to a report of a collision involving the drivers of a tractor and a VW Tiguan on the stretch of road between the turning for Compton Verney and the Five Ways roundabout near the B4100 Banbury Road. Officers attended along with West Midlands Ambulance Service, who took a six-year-old girl with serious head injuries to hospital.
“Sadly, she died the following morning, and her family is being supported by specially trained officers. Enquiries are ongoing, and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has footage of it. If you can help, please report it quoting incident number 331 of July 31.”
