A crash has locked down the busy A9 in both directions this morning as drivers are warned to plan ahead.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene near near South Birnam, Perth and Kinross, around 6.10am on Friday, July 31.
An alarm was raised after police received reports of a smash on the A9.
The road has since been closed in both directions.
Traffic Scotland have advised commuters to expect delays and urged to plan ahead.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A9 is closed in both directions south of Dunkeld following a crash reported to us around 6.10am this morning, Friday, 31 July, 2026.
“Emergency services are in attendance, and motorists are asked to use an alternative route.”
A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland wrote on X: “CLOSED in both directions due to a road traffic collision
“Emergency services are at scene.
“Drivers should use an alternative route at this time and expect delays.”
