Inter agree €7.5m Akinsanmiro sale to Monza

Super Eagles midfielder, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, is close to leaving Inter Milan after the club agreed a permanent transfer deal with Serie A side Monza, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Monza have agreed to sign the midfielder for a fee worth €7.5m, with a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the agreement, an indication that Inter still expect him to command a bigger move in future.
Akinsanmiro’s future had been uncertain since his return to Inter at the end of last season.
He spent last season on loan at Pisa but could not help the club avoid relegation from Italy’s top flight, and Pisa opted not to sign him permanently despite holding an €8m buy option.
There had been speculation in recent weeks that the 21-year-old could move to the German Bundesliga instead, before his switch to Monza was sealed.
Inter signed Akinsanmiro from Nigerian club Remo Stars in 2024, a rare route from the Nigeria Professional Football League to one of European football’s biggest clubs, made possible by his early promise.
However, opportunities at the San Siro proved limited, forcing him into loan spells at Sampdoria and then Pisa.
The move to Monza is expected to give the midfielder the stability required to build his career, though the club face a challenge of their own, having only just returned to Italy’s top flight, with a real prospect of an immediate relegation battle.
With details of the deal already agreed, Akinsanmiro could complete his move to Monza by the end of this week or the following week at the latest.
