Argentina have taken a complaint to FIFA, claiming that Spain have unfair World Cup final advantage over the South Americans

Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni,
expressed that his team is facing an unjust disadvantage prior to the World Cup final on Sunday against Spain.

The defending champions made significant progress towards retaining the title they secured four years ago with a thrilling comeback victory against England on Wednesday night.

In contrast, Spain secured their spot in the final with a more straightforward 2-0 victory over France just 24 hours earlier, potentially benefiting from the extra recovery time afforded by the schedule.

Additionally, Scaloni expressed his dissatisfaction with FIFA’s decision to require his team to train in oppressive heat on Friday afternoon in New York, shortly after their arrival.

“We are currently resting as we arrived last night around 11:00,” he stated during the pre-match press conference.

“Today, we were compelled to train at a time that was not ideal for us.

“However, due to the press conference and other commitments, we had to conduct a brief and unusual training session, which did not allow us to practice effectively.”

He continued, “Our focus is on recovery, and we will assess how the players are feeling, as some are not at full fitness.

“We will evaluate their condition. We approach the game with a focus on ourselves, while also being aware of the strengths of our opponent.”

Scaloni also emphasized that the unwavering support from fans over the past six weeks has motivated his team to strive for another trophy.
