Recall that there is a new coalition of opposition political parties under the aegis of the G-100 joining forces together to challenge President Bola Tinubu in next year’s general elections.

The G-100 had proposed a summit for August 18 but shifted it to August 31, 2026, to allow participating parties to hold further consultations after the National Peace Summit.

The opposition political parties under the G-100 include the African Democratic Congress, ADC, the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, the People Redemption Party, PRP, among others

In a statement by one of its conveners, Salihu Lukman, on Friday, the G-100 expressed the optimism of fielding one presidential candidate to wrestle with the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Reacting, Keyamo said, “This is a journey to nowhere.”
