Barcelona sporting director, Deco, has said Lamine Yamal should be the favourite to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Deco, speaking with RAC1, said Yamal was “decisive” in the year under review.
He said: “Lamine should be the favorite for the Ballon d’Or. For me, no doubts.
“Remember everything he’s done with Barça and the national team.

“He’s had some decisive moments, even going to the World Cup with an injury. Last season was key.”
Yamal won the LaLiga and Copa del Rey titles with Barcelona last season.
The 19-year-old was also part of the Spain squad that won the 2026 World Cup in North America.
He has been included in the 30-man nominees’ shortlist for the award.
