- Sky has confirmed Saturday Night Live UK will return for a second season with 12 new episodes. The broadcaster has also confirmed a release month for when the comedy series will return for season 2.
- The British version of NBC’s legendary sketch show will air between autumn 2026 and early 2027 on Sky One and NOW. Season two is set to begin in September, giving fans a relatively short wait.
- The first series featured celebrity hosts including Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Jack Whitehall and Aimee Lou Wood. Just two episodes remain of the current season.
- However, the show has received mixed reviews from viewers on social media, with one person complaining: “We’re 3 minutes in and I’ve given up on SNL UK already. Really poor.”
- Others have been more positive about the British adaptation, with another viewer writing: “As a fan of SNL for over 30 years, the UK show has been great so far.”
- The penultimate episode aired Saturday, May 9, with Hannah Waddingham hosting and Myles Smith as musical guest. Tonight’s finale on Saturday, May 16 is hosted by Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa with music from Holly Humberstone.
