After recent days of huge announcements from Xbox and PlayStation, it’s now Nintendo’s turn.

The gaming giant held a major Nintendo Direct today (Tuesday, June 9) at 3pm BST, with a number of huge reveals. A special remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was confirmed, and fans were given a new look at upcoming games like Star Fox and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.

Just days after the Nintendo Switch 2‘s first birthday, a raft of games for the console were showed off. Nintendo confirmed that the new Kingdom Hearts game will be available for Switch 2 on launch and there was a look at a new Switch Sports game, too.

Nintendo said: “The livestream kicks off with Nintendo Direct, which will run for roughly 50 minutes and highlight upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games. Immediately following, Nintendo Treehouse: Live | June 2026 will premiere and last around 95 minutes, showcasing gameplay of select titles featured during the Nintendo Direct.”

With that major reveal, the Nintendo Direct draws to an end.

The Nintendo Treehouse has begun with an in-depth look at Star Fox, which has taken me all the way back to Christmas 1999.

Switch 2 is indeed getting a “reborn” version of Ocarina of Time THIS YEAR!

That was a very cinematic tease for Ocarina, and I wasn’t that excited about it before. I am now.

Liam RyderToday15:54 BST

This VERY MUCH feels like an Ocarina of Time tease… we’re talking about Kokiri Forest, the Deku Tree and of course, Link without a fairy. The visuals are far more realistic thatn I expected, too

A sequel to Switch Sports is coming! You will find me on the tennis court like it’s 2007 all over again.

Liam RyderToday15:06 BST

That was a suitably weird opening to the Nintendo Direct.

The first five minutes were dedicated to the rhythm and music action game, Rhythm Paradise Groove, coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. It looks like it could be a lot of wholesome fun.

Also… was that a Navi reference?!

Liam RyderToday15:04 BST

It’s hard to tell exactly what Nintendo are planning here, but Star Fox and Fire Emblem are both likely to make some sort of appearance today.

Star Fox is arriving very soon on Switch 2, with a June 25 release date.

Liam RyderToday15:04 BST

There’s plenty of speculation tha seems to indicate one of the best – if not the single greatest – games of all time will be arriving on Switch 2 soon.
