Ex-England cricket and rugby international dies at the age of 92

Former England cricket captain Mike Smith, known as MJK, has passed away at the age of 92, as confirmed by Warwickshire County Cricket Club on Monday morning.
Smith played 50 Test matches for England, captaining the side on 25 occasions, and also earned a rugby union cap for England against Wales in 1956.
His extensive first-class career, primarily with Warwickshire, spanned nearly two decades, during which he accumulated close to 40,000 runs.
After retiring from playing, Smith served as Warwickshire chairman from 1991 to 2003, a period that saw the club win seven major trophies, including back-to-back County Championship titles.
A moment of silence was observed before the start of play on day four of Warwickshire’s County Championship match against Glamorgan to honour his significant contributions to English sport.
