CMAT triumphs at Ivor Novello Awards as Elton John makes history

• Irish singer-songwriter CMAT won Best Album for Euro-Country at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards, expressing surprise and delight at receiving an award in England.
• Sam Fender was named Songwriter of the Year, while Rosalia received the International Songwriter of the Year gong.
• Sir Elton John was presented with an Ivors Academy Honour and announced as the academy’s first-ever president.
• Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and the late Wham! singer George Michael were both given Fellowships of The Ivors Academy.
• Other notable winners included Scottish singer-songwriter Jacob Alon, who secured two awards, Kae Tempest, Lola Young, Lily Allen, Calvin Harris, Kano, and Linda Perry.
