The naira extended appreciation against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria data showed that the Naira strengthened further against the dollar on Thursday to N1,370.15 per dollar, up from N1,372.41 exchanged on Wednesday.
This means that on a day-to-day basis the Naira appreciated by N2.26 per dollar.
Meanwhile, the country’s black market remained flat at N1,395 per dollar on Thursday, the same rate traded on Wednesday.
The development comes as the country’s external reserves surged further to $51.46 billion as of June 30th, 2026.
Recall that except for Monday, the Naira has recorded gains against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
