Sen. Mitch McConnell was reportedly found unconscious after suffering an apparent heart attack at his Washington, D.C., home on June 14.
The 84-year-old Kentucky Republican received CPR for “cardiac arrest” during the incident, according to a Fire and EMS Department dispatch call cited by the New York Post.
A spokesperson for McConnell did not directly address the reports but reiterated that he is “still working closely with staff” and recovering.
This incident follows a series of health scares for McConnell, including a March 2023 fall that resulted in a concussion and broken rib, and subsequent public freezing episodes.
McConnell, who has served seven terms, is scheduled to retire in January.
