A human rights lawyer, Liborous Oshoma, says the case involving former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, is an opportunity for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to show that it is not a party inhabited by certificate forgers.

He asked for the prosecution of the ex-minister.

Oshoma threw this challenge on Wednesday while fielding questions in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.

This came barely 24 hours after the ex-minister was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Oshoma said:

“If APC wants to show that they are not a party that is inhabited by certificate forgers, this is one such opportunity for them to prosecute.”

“Whether politics is involved, or whether his opponents want to latch onto it, that is entirely left to him because a man who brought ant-infested wood to his house invited chickens to be his playmates. It’s an Igbo proverb,” he said.

The lawyer equal raised concerns over the clearance process for the ex-minister before he was appointed a minister.

He urged President Bola Tinubu not to allow powerful people in government to intervene to give Nnaji a soft landing.
