A chilling true crime documentary series has finally landed on Netflix, a spin off to one of the “best ever” shows.
Worst Neighbor Ever is now available to watch on the streaming platform as it explores real life neighbour disputes that often escalated into intimidation and violence.
Using bodycam footage from emergency services and heartbreaking victim interviews, the true crime series also stands out from the rest with its use of animated re-enactments to tell the stories.
An official synopsis reads: “You think you know your neighbors? Think again. This new series features firsthand accounts of violence, intimidation, and harassment that are more shocking than ever.

“Through compelling testimonials, startling body cam footage, and animated re-enactments, Worst Neighbor Ever proves the people next door aren’t just a nuisance – they’re lethal.”
Worst Neighbor Ever is from the same creators as Worst Ex Ever, which recently saw the release of its second season, as well as Worst Roommate Ever.
And the show does not hold back from sharing devastating events that shocked a community. The first episode plunges viewers into a long dispute in Kentucky when Shawna Scott and her husband David moved to be closer to her family.
Shawna reconnected with an old family friend, Frances Zaayer, who bought the house opposite theirs. Despite rekindling their teenage friendship, things soon turn sour.

Frances Zaayer was an old friend of Shawna’s as they rekindled their friendship upon both moving to the street. At first, Frances moved in with Shawna whilst her home was being renovated, but tensions soon began to rise.
After eventually moving out, things seemingly went from bad to worse when they lived opposite one another.
In the episode, Shawna can be heard saying: “Frances decided that she was going to try to cause problems.”
From property line disputes to physical scuffles, authorities were often called to their neighbourhood. One incident included Shawna calling 911 after seeing Frances topless in her garden as well as Frances calling the police alleging she was being video taped “every time” she walked outside.
Former Deputy Duana Kidd revealed: “I was called to Washington Avenue almost daily, it was over and over all the time.”
However, one day in 2018 things took a fatal turn. In May 2018, the documentary shows CCTV of Frances walking across the street to the other address. She then fired a gun at Shawna and David, an incident that proved fatal for deputy jailer David.
Shawna herself was rushed to hospital with devastating injuries to her face.

Frances pleaded guilty to murder, second degree assault, and first degree wanton endangerment. She was sentenced in 2022 to 35 years in prison and will be eligible for parole in 2038 meaning she remains in prison currently.
Speaking in the episode, Shawna revealed: “It’s my biggest fear for Frances to be paroled. My fear for my kids, my family. Honestly, I hope she never gets out. There’s still a fear that’s in the back of my head every day.”
