Madonna’s ‘prop baby’ prank on live TV resurfaces in new interview
Madonna argues AI is the ‘opposite of making art’
A three-decade-old prank involving Madonna and a “prop baby” on The Rosie O’Donnell Show has resurfaced in a new interview.
Comedian Judy Gold, a writer and producer for the show at the time, revealed that her infant son, Henry, was used as the “prop baby.”
The prank occurred shortly after Madonna gave birth to her daughter, Lourdes Leon, in October 1996, during her first public appearance post-delivery.
Fans eagerly anticipated seeing Lourdes, so Gold’s son was brought out, leading the audience to believe it was Madonna’s baby.
The incident also served as an unexpected “coming out” moment for Judy Gold’s mother, who had previously been discreet about her daughter’s same-sex relationship and child.
