Cote d’Ivoire became the third team to exit the 2026 World Cup.

The Elephants suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norway in their Round of 32 clash on Tuesday.

Antonio Nusa opened the scoring in the first half of the match, before Amad Diallo levelled in the 72nd minute.

But Erling Haaland’s fifth goal at the tournament ensured that it was Norway that progressed into the next round.

The Ivorians join South Africa and Tunisia as Africa’s flagbearers to be sent packing from the World Cup.
