Could you briefly tell us about yourself?

My name is Olorunyomi Olamide, popularly known as Olalevite. I am a music minister, songwriter, recording artist and performing artiste.

In addition to my music ministry, I am also a building engineer by profession.

How long have you been married?

My wife and I have been happily married for the past 17 years.

How did you meet her?

We met in church.

Did you plan to marry her from the start?

Yes. From the very beginning, I saw our relationship as a divine arrangement orchestrated by God. I knew she was my wife.

What was her reaction when you proposed?

The proposal came as a surprise to her. It happened in church, and she was not expecting it at all. It was a memorable moment, and everyone who witnessed it loved it.

Were her parents supportive of the relationship?

Of course. Her parents were very happy and fully supported our union.

How many children has God blessed your marriage with?

We have three wonderful children.

What would you consider the most memorable moment you have shared with your wife?

One of them was when we travelled as a family, creating beautiful memories that we will always cherish.

What advice do you have for young people seeking successful marriages?

My advice is for them to develop a discerning spirit so they can understand and follow God’s will for their lives. Choosing a life partner is one of the most important decisions anyone can make, and God’s guidance is essential.

What is your take on the growing number of family break-ups in the country?

It is truly disheartening to see many young marriages breaking down these days. I believe that for a marriage to thrive, God must remain its foundation. Couples should learn to tolerate, understand and appreciate each other, recognising that they come from different backgrounds. We must study one another, communicate effectively and correct each other in love. With God at the centre and genuine commitment from both partners, marriages can flourish and stand the test of time.
