Jeremy Clarkson has revealed his emergency hospital dash following his cancer treatment going “awry” was caused by restarting medication without first seeking medical advice.
The fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video took a heartbreaking turn in its final two episodes when Jeremy disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis to Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland.
The former Top Gear presenter has now confirmed he is in remission, although not without enduring some frightening health complications.
In the concluding episode, he’s shown once more in a hospital bed following an emergency, telling viewers: “If this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone.”
Jeremy has now disclosed the hospital admission occurred after he resumed blood-thinning medication for heart conditions without obtaining approval from his doctor, reports Wales Online.

He confessed in an interview with the Sunday Times: “That was horrific and it was all my own fault.
“I’d been on drugs for heart issues and I had to come off them during the cancer treatment.”
Series 5 had already opened with Jeremy’s heart surgery back in October 2024, which had been successful but necessitated several weeks of recovery.
However, his post-operative medication appears to have clashed with his cancer treatment, forcing Jeremy back to hospital for further treatment which he is reluctant to reveal.
“Two or three weeks after the cancer operation, I thought I’d better put myself back on those blood thinners,” he continued to explain. “Big mistake, huge. It [resulted in] a very big emergency in the middle of the night.
“I’m not even going to go into the treatment that was required as a result of that, because it was horrible. I didn’t ask a doctor, I just thought, ‘I’m sure it will be all right to go back on blood thinners’.”

Fortunately, Jeremy has confirmed to The Sunday Times that a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test taken two months ago revealed no signs of cancer.
This positive news has enabled a sixth series of Clarkson’s Farm to get underway, with Jeremy announcing over the weekend on Instagram that filming had commenced at Diddly Squat.
He told his followers: “So, bit of a year. But, I am delighted to tell you that Season 6 of Clarkson’s Farm is currently being filmed. It’s in production.

“And that’s particularly good news for me because… well, if you know, you know. And, if you don’t know, you need to watch Season 5.”
Regarding how he’s maintaining his wellbeing following his recent health concerns, Jeremy reveals he now drives at a slower pace, walks more frequently, and has even incorporated vegetarian dishes into his diet.
