‘We’re here to party’: Scotland fans drink bars dry in Boston
Over 20,000 Scotland fans have travelled to the US to support their team in the World Cup, with both of their first-round matches scheduled for Boston Stadium.
The ‘Tartan Army’ has been highly visible in Boston, with social media showing them marching with bagpipers and reportedly “drinking the city dry”.
When fans visited New York City between matches, some expressed a preference for Boston. One fan said: “We’ve got to get back to the good American side.”
Another Scotland fan said “I’ve noticed it’s not as good as Boston,” when commenting on New York, while others found the Big Apple friendly and welcoming.
Scotland fans have adopted Dawn the Duck, a Rhode Island-based mascot with a social media following, who led a procession ahead of their match against Morocco.
