Trump says he wanted to award himself nation’s highest military honor
Trump attempts to tout economy at Medals of Honor ceremony
Donald Trump used a military award ceremony to boast about the stock market and 401(k) retirement accounts, claiming they hit new all-time highs.
He also stated that oil prices were “dropping like a rock” during his remarks before presenting medals for gallantry.
Trump joked about wanting to award himself the military decoration, but couldn’t find a reason he was worthy.
He referred to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as “Secretary of War” and praised his “good victories lately.”
These remarks followed a memorandum signed to end a conflict with Iran, and a new poll indicates his economic approval rating has fallen to 33 percent.
