Drugs worth over £1.3m have been found in a huge raids operation by police in Aberdeen. Eight men have been arrested and charged in connection.
Eight cannabis cultivations were discovered after officers carried out 11 warrants across the city on Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16.
Cannabis, with an estimated street value of over £1,370,000, was recovered. The men, aged between 24 and 54, were due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Detective Inspector Andy Machray said: “This was a significant recovery which highlights our commitment to tackling the supply and distribution of illegal substances on our streets.
“Drugs cause misery and we continue to work alongside our partners, including Aberdeen City Council, to remove them from our communities.
“Information from the public is vital. We would ask anyone with information or concerns about drugs in the community or a property in their area, possibly being used for this purpose, to contact us.
“We would also urge landlords in the private rental sector to make sure they carry out thorough checks on prospective tenants. Be particularly aware of tenants who are willing to pay in cash and make regular checks on your property
