A political support group under the All Progressives Congress, the Citizens in Politics Assembly, has said that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s scorecard is a testament to the dividends of accountability and people-centred governance.
CIPA National Coordinator and Director-General, Mrs Abigail Olagbaye, described Oyebanji’s administration as “a practical demonstration that accountable leadership delivers measurable results.”
Olagbaye, in a statement issued by the CIPA National Public Relations Officer, Ayodele Abere, in Ado Ekiti, on Monday, said, “The dividends of good governance are evident across Ekiti State in improved infrastructure, support for farmers, accessible healthcare, economic empowerment and strategic investments that are positioning the state for long-term prosperity.
“Ekiti people have witnessed a government that listens, a government that works and a government that delivers. The achievements recorded under Oyebanji are not mere statistics; they are real interventions that have positively impacted families, communities and businesses across the state.
“As citizens prepare to make another democratic choice, we believe the most credible basis for that decision is performance, and Governor Oyebanji’s record speaks for itself.”
The CIPA national coordinator commended the completion of the Ekiti Agro-Allied and International Cargo Airport and the commencement of commercial flight operations, describing it as “one of the most defining achievements of the Oyebanji administration.”
She said the airport had positioned Ekiti as a strategic destination for investment, agribusiness, tourism, trade and economic expansion, adding that it represented a commitment to opening the state to national and global opportunities.
“Across agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, enterprise development and economic transformation, the Oyebanji administration has consistently demonstrated a commitment to translating public trust into measurable improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.
“Taken together, these achievements tell a clear story of leadership that delivers. They reflect a government that has invested in people, connected communities, empowered businesses, strengthened healthcare and laid the foundation for long-term economic prosperity.
“The dividends of accountability are visible in the lives of farmers who now enjoy greater support, entrepreneurs who have been empowered to grow, communities connected by modern roads, vulnerable citizens receiving free healthcare and a state increasingly recognised as a destination for investment and development.
“As Ekiti moves toward another electoral cycle, the question before the people is straightforward—should the progress already achieved be sustained and accelerated, or should the state abandon a trajectory that has delivered measurable results?
“Governor Oyebanji’s scorecard provides a convincing answer. It is a record of performance, a testament to responsible governance and a demonstration that when leadership is accountable, citizens benefit.
“The dividends are real. The impact is visible. The progress is undeniable. Ekiti’s future is brighter because accountability has worked, and Governor Oyebanji has shown that effective leadership remains the surest pathway to sustainable development and shared prosperity for all,” CIPA stated.
Olagbaye also highlighted interventions across key sectors of the state economy.
“In the agricultural sector, the Oyebanji administration disbursed over N400m for agrochemicals, fertilisers and improved seeds at a 50 per cent subsidised rate. It also distributed 20,000 bags of fertiliser free of charge to farmers across the state.
“These interventions have boosted food production, reduced the burden on farmers, strengthened rural livelihoods and reinforced Ekiti’s position as an emerging agricultural hub,” she said.
She added that infrastructure development had also been significant.
“A total of 25 interstate and intercity roads covering 288km have been constructed and equipped with modern street lighting, significantly improving connectivity, safety and economic activities across the state.
“In addition, 135km of rural roads have been delivered under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, opening up farming communities, easing transportation challenges and enabling farmers to move their produce more efficiently to markets,” she said.
CIPA also noted improvements in healthcare delivery.
“Pregnant women, children under the age of five, persons with disabilities and sickle cell warriors continue to receive free medical care at government health facilities across Ekiti State,” the group said.
The group further commended initiatives in entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, describing them as pathways to sustainable prosperity.
