A man has been charged after a woman was allegedly raped in Arbroath.
Police Scotland said officers received a report of a serious sexual assault in the Bridge Street area on June 6.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Saturday, June 6, 2026, we received a report of a serious sexual assault in the Bridge Street area of Arbroath.
“A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court at a later date.”

Police also said social media posts claiming the incident involved illegal migrants are incorrect.
