Aldi issues huge recall for mac and cheese packages across US after ‘severe’ health risk

  • BEF Foods, Inc. has recalled 58,405 cases of its Park St. Deli Macaroni & Cheese nationwide due to an undeclared soy lecithin allergen.

  • The affected macaroni and cheese, sold exclusively at Aldi stores, includes 525,645 individual 20-ounce packages.
  • Soy lecithin, derived from soybeans, is among the nine major food allergens in the U.S., with reactions potentially leading to severe, life-threatening symptoms.
  • This recall is one of several recent food safety incidents, including Kettle Cuisine’s Minestrone Soup for undeclared shrimp and The Coffee Connexion Co.’s Alfredo sauce for potential salmonella.
