The web versions of WhatsApp and Instagram have gone offline in a major outage that has taken down Facebook.
Only the websites of the two apps were offline. WhatsApp and Instagram’s apps appeared to be functioning as normal.

That was in contrast to the outage at Facebook, which knocked all of its apps including Messenger offline, as well as its web version.
All of parent company Meta’s apps – which includes Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp – share services behind the scenes, meaning that an outage on one of the products usually comes with issues at others.
