Rory McIlroy, who successfully defended his Masters title last month, has declared himself more motivated than ever for upcoming tournaments.
The Northern Irish golfer, who became only the fourth player to achieve consecutive Masters triumphs, is set to return to competitive play at the Truist Championship this week before the US PGA.
McIlroy enjoyed a period of downtime after his Masters victory, including a trip to New York and attending a State Dinner at the White House with Donald Trump and King Charles.
He hosted this year’s Masters Champions Dinner, which received some criticism for not reflecting his Northern Irish heritage.
McIlroy is considering a more relaxed approach for next year’s dinner, potentially incorporating a nod to his heritage, and likened hosting the event to a wedding day while on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce.
