US targets Iran’s ‘surveillance capabilities’ in latest round of strikes
Iran launched strikes targeting 18 US airbases in the Gulf region, including Kuwait and Bahrain, after the US military said it attacked Iran’s “surveillance capabilities”, among other military infrastructure, in its latest round of strikes.
The US military conducted a second round of strikes on Iranian military surveillance, communication systems, and air defense sites, with Donald Trump saying the US would attack Iran “very hard” unless a peace deal is finalized.
The US State Department issued travel advisories for citizens in Iraq and Jordan, urging vigilance, seeking shelter, and considering leaving the countries due to renewed attacks and potential airspace closures.
Oil prices surged, and Tehran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed following the increased hostilities, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guard promised “hell” to the US in response to the attacks.
Israel’s defense minister warned that the country’s military actions against Iran are “far from over” and threatened a “severe blow” if Iran attacks Israel again.
