Welcome to the latest transfer news live blog for Mirror Football on Wednesday, June 10.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to get underway tomorrow and there is expected to be plenty of build-up ahead of the tournament, which kicks off in North America.
Away from the World Cup, the summer transfer window will also take centre stage over the next few months, with a host of players already being linked with a big move ahead of next season.
West Ham star Mateus Fernandes continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, with Arsenal also credited with an interest.
Real Madrid have also confirmed that they have had a bid rejected for Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez, who is reportedly a target for Arsenal and Barcelona.
There has also been an update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero, who is being linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Football analysis supercomputer Machine Football believes that Mohamed Salah is performing at the level of a player in their prime.
Salah’s dribbling ranks in the top 0.01% of all attackers in the database. For context, that 99.72 dribbling score, combined with a finishing rating of 96.94 and a creativity score of 97.69, places him among the most complete attacking midfielders the model has assessed globally.
The data suggests that Salah would fit in well with Fenerbahce manager Zeki Murat Gole’s 4-2-3-1 system, with close to the maximum compatibility.
The overall picture is a player whose qualities remain elite but whose potential wage of more than £400,000 per week represents the clearest point of risk. Machine Football’s simulation is confident in the footballing fit, but is unclear if the financial structure would be able to work.

Newcastle have announced they have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen.
Jaouen arrives from Reims on a permanent basis, with the Magpies reportedly agreeing an £18million deal for the 20-year-old.
Jaouen told Newcastle’s club website:
I’m really excited to become a Newcastle United player. When I visited the training ground, I could see how passionate everyone is about the club and the work they do, and I loved the environment straight away. I also had the chance to see the stadium and it’s huge.I’ve heard so much about the supporters and how they are the best in the country. The passion of the entire city and the atmosphere at St James’ Park are famous throughout football, and I can’t wait to experience that for myself and become a true Geordie. As a goalkeeper, I enjoy one on one situations and playing as a modern keeper, building from the back and being comfortable with the ball at my feet. Now I want to develop alongside the amazing players and staff here, enjoy my football, and prove my value on the pitch.

Hertha Berling starlet Kennet Eichhorn is reportedly close to signing for Bayer Leverkusen, following interest from Liverpool.
The Reds had been heavily linked with signing the 16-year-old midfielder, who would have needed to sign for a club on loan if he was to sign for the Anfield outfit.
The Athletic have reported, though, that Eichhorn is set to join Leverkusen on a permanent move, ending Liverpool’s hopes of getting a deal over the line.

Mohamed Salah’s next move after his Liverpool exit could see him go to Turkey, according to a football director in the country.
Ertan Torunogullari, who works as director at Fenerbahce, has claimed that the 33-year-old has expressed a desire to move to Turkey, and has spoke about the possibility of signing the Egyptian.
Torunogullari said, via Fanatik:
He [Salah] was very keen on coming to TurkeyThe meetings he had with us were extremely positive. We had established common ground with him on many issues, including his salary. If the new administration makes such a request, I believe Salah will wear the Fenerbahce jersey. We would gladly work with the new administration on negotiations.

Football analysis supercomputer Machine Football still rates Sancho’s dribbling skills highly, putting him in the top 1.1% of players globally.
And at 26, with no transfer fee and an estimated market value of just over £24m, he is a good fit with Unai Emery’s 4-2-3-1 system, which Machine Football profiles as built on possession retention and controlled ball progression.
However, the data raises a genuine concern over chemistry. The model projects a low score on cohesion with star striker Ollie Watkins, giving their connection a rating of just 16 out of 100.
For an attacking player whose effectiveness often depends on timing and combinations with a central striker, that is a number worth watching. On a free transfer, the risk is manageable, but the Watkins partnership will need attention.

Cristian Romero has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but the Tottenham defender does not appear likely to move to Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Romero is not a target for United this summer, despite reports elsewhere claiming that a deal could be on the cards.
Romero’s future at Spurs has been the subject of speculation following the club’s 17th-place finish in the Premier League last season, which narrowly avoided relegation.
