US to begin offering expedited visa interviews at some embassies for $750

The State Department is set to introduce a “premium” expedited service for international visitors, allowing business and tourist visa applicants to fast-track their interviews.
This new service will cost an additional $750, on top of the standard $185 fee, and will enable applicants to schedule an interview within 10 days at select U.S. embassies and consulates.
The pilot program is scheduled to run from July 1 to December 31, with further details to be published in the Federal Register this week.
The initiative is seen as a measure to alleviate significant backlogs and difficulties in entering the United States, which were exacerbated by stringent immigration policies implemented by a previous administration.
It is important to note that opting for this optional premium service does not guarantee visa issuance, and the specific participating embassies and consulates will be announced before the July 1 launch.
