Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, passed away on 24 July last year at the age of 71, with the Clearwater Police Department concluding there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
His wife, Sky Daily Hogan, a home health aide, and an occupational therapist were present at his home when he stopped breathing and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Family members informed investigators that Hogan had been suffering from multiple health issues in the weeks leading up to his death, including leukaemia, an irregular heart rhythm, pneumonia and kidney failure.
Both the local medical examiner and a private autopsy paid for by the family concluded that Hogan died from a heart attack, dismissing earlier speculation about surgical complications.
