The police in Borno State have arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection with the killing of a young man during a disagreement in Konduga Local Government Area.
The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the incident happened on June 6 at about 3:00 p.m. in Konduga when a heated argument broke out between two youths.
“During the dispute, the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Adam Ali Bukar of Galtimari Ward, allegedly stabbed 20-year-old Ba’umara of Duwanti Ward in the chest,” Makama wrote.
Makama stated that the matter was first reported to the police by the Commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Konduga.
Police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, quickly moved to the scene where the victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Konduga.
He was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
The body was later released to the family for burial, according to Islamic rites.
The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered as evidence.
The police have since transferred the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Maiduguri for further investigation.
