- A 35-year-old man died after being attacked by a shark while spearfishing near Michaelmas Island, off Western Australia.
- The incident took place on Saturday morning, and despite efforts by paramedics, the man could not be revived after being brought to shore.
- Police reported the man was bitten by a suspected 4.5-metre shark, leading to a warning for people to take precautions in the area.
- This fatality is the third in Australia in less than a month, following two other deadly shark attacks on 24 May and 16 May.
- Australia has now experienced four shark-related deaths this year, surpassing its recent annual average of three fatalities.
