Most Americans oppose Trump’s UFC event, poll finds
Trump says the giant UFC arena set up outside the White House could stay up forever
The White House will host UFC Freedom 250, six mixed martial arts bouts on the South Lawn on June 14, which is also Donald Trump‘s 80th birthday.
A YouGov survey revealed that 51 percent of Americans disapprove of the White House hosting the UFC event.
The UFC is reportedly covering the costs for the event, which includes a lightweight title bout and has sponsorship packages valued at up to $1 million or more.
The event takes place amid economic concerns for Americans, including a 3.8 percent annual inflation rate and increased energy costs due to the Iran war.
A Quinnipiac University poll indicates that 68 percent of voters believe Trump is not adequately focused on domestic problems.
