- Legendary actor Anthony Head, who was best known for his roles in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Ted Lasso, has sadly died at the age of 72 after complications from pneumonia.
- The star’s daughters, actresses Emily and Daisy Head, announced the tragic news in a statement to the Press Association. It said: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father, Anthony Head.”
- Anthony passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. His daughters described having him as their father as “an honour and a privilege” and witness the impact of his work on so many people, reports the Mirror.
- Head’s recent performances included starring as former Richmond FC owner Rupert Mannion in the hit show, Ted Lasso. He also had notable roles as the Prime Minister in Little Britain and Uther Pendragon in Merlin.
- He was also famous for his role in the iconic Nescafé Gold Blend adverts alongside Sharon Maughan between 1987 and 1993. The romantic coffee adverts ranked 20th on ITV’s Best Ever Ads list.
- His tragoc death comes just months after losing his partner, animal rights activist Sarah Fisher, who died aged 61 from anaplastic thyroid cancer in December. “We kindly ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time,” the family said.
