‘I’m the lucky one because I knew you’: Tributes paid to Anthony Head after death aged 72

  • Anthony Head, the British actor best known for his role as Rupert Giles in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘, has died at the age of 72. His daughters confirmed that he passed away due to complications related to pneumonia.
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy, led heartfelt tributes, saying: “I know I’m the lucky one because I knew you. Thank you to Daisy and Emily who not only shared their dad with me, but with the world.
  • Other ‘Buffy’ co-stars including James Marsters and Emma Caulfield also paid tribute to the actor.
  • Head’s extensive career also included notable roles in British productions such as ‘Little Britain’ and ‘Merlin’, and more recently as Rupert Mannion in ‘Ted Lasso’.
  • Fellow actors from ‘Ted Lasso’, including Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift, also shared their condolences and memories of working with the acclaimed actor.
